Get Fats For Your Brain

Get Fats For Your Brain

The human body was designed to love fatty foods in part because of the needs of the brain. We should choose the “good” kinds of fats, skipping the dangerous ones and adding plenty of brain-healthy ones.

The brain is made mostly of fat, which not only forms the membranes around cells that regulate what gets in and out of them but also insulates the bundles of nerve fibers that act as high-speed communication cables in the brain. It shouldn't be too shocking, then, to learn that fat is the single most important nutrient for protecting and preserving brain function. Eating a low-fat or, worse, a no-fat diet is actually the worst thing you can do for your brain. What the brain craves most are the omega-3 fats. They turn on the genes that determine how the brain develops, repair and preserve brain cells, enable the cells to deliver signals efficiently, and may even facilitate the growth of new cells. Studies show that without enough omega-3s, the brain can't function properly. Over time, lack of omega-3s may even contribute to the development of Alzheimer's disease. Unfortunately, most people don't eat nearly enough of these good fats.

So don't be afraid to eat those fats you are trying to avoid. Just always keep in mind that "too much is bad".
Be generous to your body and brain, foods are created to be eaten.
In proper way, you can benefit to the foods that most people avoid.

coffee coffee coffee

Wake up and smell the coffee: “It’s amazing,” says liver specialist Sanjiv Chopra, MD, professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School. “Coffee is truly a lifesaving miracle drug.”..(credits to http://www.rd.com)

Though he says it’s still a “scientific mystery” how a simple cup of coffee works its wonders in the body, large epidemiological studies repeatedly verify its astonishing benefits. Some recent research highlights:

More than three cups a day lowers women’s risk of developing the most common skin cancer by 20 percent.
More than six cups a day cuts men’s risk of dying from prostate cancer by 60 percent.
Drinking at least one cup of coffee a day lowers women’s risk of stroke by up to 25 percent.
Consuming at least two cups daily reduces women’s chances of becoming depressed by up to 20 percent.

“Drink it black, or at most put a little skim milk in it” to minimize calories, Dr. Chopra recommends. The benefits from decaf may not be as prodigious, so stick with regular if you can tolerate the buzz. Dr. Chopra drinks at least four cups a day himself, though most people should limit themselves to two. And no, he jokes, “I’m not sponsored by Starbucks.”

for their eyes only

Politically, we, youth, seldom join the debate. We don't like it that much, joining in the debates regarding the problems and leaks of the government. Yes, its true we don't notice much of the government issues, but we care. In where? In everyday expenses, like fares going to the school. We are thinking and trying to analyze what does the government had accomplished to alleviate price hike in most of the prime commodities in the community. They may did their best but we still have some suggestions regarding those issues that also affects us.

Emotionally, we, youth, often kept our thoughts inside us. Even joining the circle of concern elder citizens, mostly, our voices were never heard and categorized as emotionally based reactions and judged as weak. We really understand what is happening in the community but we also knew well that even heated much to catch the attention of the concerned ones in the society, our voices will still be invalid. Unless a tragical thing will happen. Take for example the issues of the heroes graves. Wherever your body was buried, if you did the good deeds when you were still alive, the people who knew you will look your memories back as a heroic actions. So why does some person needs to fight to be buried in the heroes grave.

Mentally, we know very much that we are still not fully nourished with the knowledge needed to take much bigger responsibilities. That's why, we are just waiting for our turn to take the bigger actions in the society, while doing our best to become a part of a responsible citizens later. Slowly but surely, that's it maybe. We sharpen our minds through the experience of the responsible citizens in the society right now.

You maybe didn't notice but we are thinking more better solutions of today's issues to obtain a more livable society the moment our time to counter part the leading role will come.

As of now, we live the life at ease while gathering enough strength for tomorrows challenges. Living the simpler part, allows you to see the bigger part of the equation. It also allows you to learn the basics. Because in the end, what we wanted to see is the simplified picture of the goal.
